Just launched the first pre-alpha version of the NewsWatch Saskatchewn Intranet.

This system was created to manage news story clips, imported from an Informix database into an online MySQL database, that are paraphrased versions of timely and archived news stories.

These clips are sold to interested partied, including news syndicates and major crown corporations and local government. Along with maintaining clips, the system also allows for the maintainance of news source, keywords, authors and users. The logo you see in the picture was especially created for this intranet. The system was designed with fast data entry in mind.

I was approached by the organization, to create a website for the end of summer 2009, that would allow all of the members to post their products (CMS - Content Management System).

They are a chapter of the OCIA (Organic Crop Improvement Association). Check out the neat Saskatchewan Organic Producer map, which is based on the Saskatchewan Census Divisions - you can click on an area to find the local producers in that area. this map also show up in the right side area of all the other web pages.
